Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality systems for cannabis and cannabis products production in strict compliance with Health Canada’s Cannabis Regulations guidelines.

How you can contribute:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems within departments to ensure product quality and or regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor QC and QA related date for compliance to Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations and lead corrective action required.
  • Perform Cannabis Regulations and GPP audits and communicate non-compliance and collaborate with respective departments on corrective actions.
  • Support management of the Change Control System, Incidents, Complaints, Validation System and Deviation Investigation Reports, Including Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Action. Ensure all reports are complete in timely manner
  • Guide, mentor and supervise team members.
  • Perform and or oversee batch record review and approval process.
  • Review of Quality Control documents, test results, certificates of analysis, procedures, and production equipment to ensure compliance to specification
  • Identify, investigate, correct, and document potential quality and compliance issues.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities, with other departments.
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Oversee preparation of Deviation Investigation Reports, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventative Action plans
  • Participate in the site IQ/OQ/PQ program for equipment and processes
  • Coordinate with other Managers, supervisors, leads to obtain maximum use of resources.
  • Identify and determine quality and productivity related problems and solutions.
  • Coordinate and oversee employee work assignment and special projects.
  • Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
  • Monitor all products QC and QA related data and labels for compliance to Health Canada and lead corrective action required
  • Participate in internal audits and communicate non-compliances and collaborate with respective departments on corrective actions

  • Assertive and diplomatic, with excellent analytical, trouble shooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to take directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide leadership for problem and conflict resolution.
  • Training and mentoring.
  • Flexible working schedule, able to answer questions during off hours to support the team.
  • Ability to quickly learn new and novel manufacturing processes supporting new clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven reliability and autonomy with reoccurring tasks.
  • Motivated individual who can work independently or in a team setting to complete
Things we hope you have:
  • Minimum of a B.Sc. in a science discipline or related diploma program.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control function.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven end-to-end leadership experience.
  • Very good knowledge of the Cannabis Act, Health Canada, and GPP regulations.
  • Previous Health Canada Security clearance and work experience with a Canadian License Dealer or Licensed Producer is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic databases.
  • Bilingual: English and French
