Job summary:

The Business Development Director cultivates new business prospects, nurtures relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners. They play a pivotal role in ROSE LifeScience's goal to become a key player in the Cannabis industry by forging strategic partnerships to expand our product range and meet market demand.

How you can contribute :
  • Provide support to VP Business Development on the path to expand Rose’s business opportunities and partnerships with the focus to increase market penetration and visibility.
  • Identify and develop innovative value propositions and partnerships solutions to ROSE and partners that will support organizational business goals (Promise to Purchase and Bulk Supply Agreement)
  • Develop plans to support the achievement of sales targets and goals established in the company’s strategic plan.
  • Establish detailed KPIs and metrics to track and report on the performance of strategic Business Development goals & initiatives and transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Responsible for researching pull through and/or brand specific sales opportunities for targeted cannabis sectors, determining product needs, sales channels and working with Commercial Team to maximize opportunities.
  • Assist in and offer feedback with product development, and other projects involving business development.
  • Partner and coordinate with internal functions such as Commercial, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Operations, etc. to facilitate execution of sales from new partners (i.e.: Bulk flower suppliers, CMOs, other Licensed Producers).
  • Attend events, trade shows, and gather information to determine market trends and present opportunities to marketing & merchandising for further research and analysis.
  • Act as a strategic stakeholder, by interacting with various departments and partner companies of ROSE, to investigate on potential hurdles associated to new products launces and other opportunities.
  • Participate and establish potential partnerships using market knowledge, industry trade associations, trade shows, networking events.
  • Negotiates deals and conditions based on the product offering.
  • Supports and participates in drafting service agreements, contracts, and relevant documentation.
  • Maintains regular contact and builds relationship with clients and potential partners.
You are really good at:
  • Utilizing the MS suite (excel and power-point).
  • Autonomous; Organized with ability to prioritize.
  • Strong negotiation, time-management, and judgement skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop trustworthy relationships.
  • Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills, in both English and French
Things we hope you have:
  • 8-10 years of relevant business development and/or account management experience.
  • Previous experience within cannabis would be considered a strong asset.
  • Bachelors in commerce or another relevant discipline.
  • Concrete business examples of sales accomplishments.
  • Bilingual (French and English) with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in French to work in Quebec.
  • Good English skills to interact with sister and parent companies (British Colombia and USA)
