Role summary:

The Product Developer will participate in the creation and execution of new and improved/modified products. The ideal candidate will need to be self-motivated, team oriented, personally accountable, enjoy a fast-paced environment and must enjoy the hands-on nature of the job that will require involvement in both pilot and plant activities. A passion for cannabis science and technology together with the ability to translate theory to practice are critical. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of cannabis research & development.

How you can contribute:
  • Work with internal and external (e.g., co-manufacturing) partners to bring products to market from concept to stabilized production.
  • Build product development plans and conduct bench top and/or pilot plant experiments as needed for new products, product renovations, and/or new processes.
  • Create product & packaging specifications, label content, process parameters, BOMs, SOPs, and other documentation as required for new product launches in collaboration with Operations, QA, Supply, and Marketing.
  • Coordination of new product launches between departments, including hands-on training of the manufacturing team and equipment setup (e.g., printers) to ensure smooth start-up along with ongoing troubleshooting.
  • Develop & hold strong relationships within cross-functional teams to deliver products that meet business needs, identifying continuous improvement opportunities to proactively address and solve issues prior to them becoming critical.
  • Understanding of new technologies and competitive products by retail audit and/or product analysis.
  • Consult technical resources (literature, technical papers, academia, suppliers) to further product knowledge and apply the learning to execute projects. Support cross-functional team with technical knowledge of product & packaging.
  • Maintaining project files to ensure meticulous collection, development, and retention of knowledge in an uncertain and rapidly changing industry.
You’re really good at:
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, problem-solver and team oriented.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; clearly communicate product updates to key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement actions.
Things we hope you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in applied Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Experience in consumer goods, cannabis and/or related industry.
  • Experience in project management, product design, product training and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you should know about the job:
  • Ability to travel to our manufacturing facility in Huntington, QC 1-3 times per week
  • Ability to travel to other locations, as business needs arise.
