Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Temporary Position: Maternity Leave Replacement)

The Strategic Sourcing specialist is responsible for assessing and managing global sourcing opportunities, building, and maintaining relationships with suppliers, conducting supplier recruitment and assessment, and negotiating contracts. As a strategic sourcing specialist, your goal is to reduce costs and improve delivery time for our company.
- Be a subject matter expert for packaging sourcing and collaborate with Preferred suppliers that can meet the technical needs linked to the requirements defined by the product developer and operations
- Realization of value analysis & transmission of NPL cost to Finance
- Follow-up and management of the procurement side project collaboration between internal (R&D, development, quality, procurement...) and external (suppliers) interfaces
- Launch and management of calls tender, negotiation and contracts as required
- Ensure the ERP creation of new vendor and items and follow-up of the process
- Ensure the creation and follow-up of the creation process of any new vendor in collaboration with other internal teams
- Perform sourcing for products, consider potential/alternative vendors or upon request
- Perform In-depth quantitative purchasing analysis allowing elaboration & deployment of production and supply optimization strategies in collaboration with the commodity manager
- Ensure the update of prices with suppliers and the settings in our ERP of our commodity products
- Ensure the updating and continuity of our purchasing categories in terms of cost, delivery time and quality
- Be a key contact to build and maintain supplier relationships and provide insight into supplier performance
- Sourcing equipment link to the need of the internal customer and give market visibility
- Collaborate closely with the commodity buyer, ensuring all requests are actioned in a timely fashion
- Ensure to transmits all level of information link to the equipment for each team concerned (internal requester, QA, operations etc.)
- Demonstrates exceptional analytical skills to deliver insights through analysis
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement actions
- Leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
- Strong communication skills, with fluency in French and English
- High proficiency with ERP systems, Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with proven experience in business analytics
- At least 3 years-experience
- Experience in consumer goods, pharma, cannabis and/or related industry will be an asset
- Your role is based in Montreal, QC
- Ability to attend weekly meetings in Huntingdon
